What is CBD?
CBD, cannabidiol is just one of the hundreds of cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant. What is considered “hemp” in this expanding modern market is comprised of mostly CBD, less than 3% THC, and small amounts of other cannabinoids including CBDA, CBN, CBG, and CBD. Cannabidiol oil is extracted from the hemp plant in various ways. Learn more and read about the forms of hemp oil.
Cannabis is among one of the first botanicals to be used by humans for its medicinal benefits.

How Does It Work
The Endocannabinoid System
While the contemporary world of CBD and hemp oil products often attributes its healing effects to CBD itself, the more accurate and empowering truth is that CBD is the catalyst that enables our bodies to continue to heal themselves.
In addition to CBD, the most common phytocannabinoid found in the hemp plant, there are over one hundred other important phytocannabinoids present in hemp, with more being discovered each day.
Throughout the nervous system of every animal—from earthworms and whales, to owls and humans—there exists neurochemicals known as endocannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system is what modulates pleasure, energy, and wellbeing. It is what restores balance and normal functioning processes, and nudges our bodies back to health in the face of injury or disease. CBD and the other phytocannabinoids present in hemp are what help bring balance to the endocannabinoid system. They are the catalysts that allow your body to pursue its ancient processes of self-healing, restoration, and regeneration.
Instead of creating something for you, the hemp plant offers profound somatic healing by way of indirectly stimulating your body’s endocannabinoid receptors and inhibiting the enzyme that breaks down anandamide. Anandamide, a fatty acid neurotransmitter that naturally occurs in our bodies, is named after the Sanskrit word for “eternal bliss” —ananda. When allowed to remain intact, anandamide and its balancing, bliss-giving, fertility-supporting properties become more readily available to the body.

Oxidative Stress – What is it and Why We Should Care
Oxidative stress occurs in the body when there is an imbalance between free radical production (toxic denatured cells) and the body’s ability to counteract their damaging effects. Oxidative damage is the harm sustained by cells and tissues that are unable to keep up with free radical production.
As an antioxidant and neuroprotective element, CBD works to reduce the effects of oxidative stress on the body, including long-term age-related, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases associated with oxidation.
The Entourage Effect and Full-Spectrum CBD
When CBD is allowed to work in unison with the plant’s phytocannabinoids, terpenes, phenolics (antioxidants), and flavonoids (anti-inflammatories), an entourage effect occurs.
This collectively powerful entourage effect translates to a rich, full-spectrum hemp oil with higher bioavailability at lower doses. The less heat used during extraction and tincturing processes, the more dynamic, robust, and potent the entourage effect and outcome.
Other Types of CBD
Isolate
A highly refined form of CBD, which is isolated from all other compounds in the cannabis plant using harsh chemicals which often incorporate petroleum-based solvents.
Broad Spectrum
Contains cannabinoids in addition to CBD but without THC.
CO2 Extraction, The Fe Difference

Through this revered method of botanical extraction, we are able to bring you a CO2 extracted hemp oil that retains its bioavailability and delivers the cleanest, best tasting, most full-spectrum hemp oil available today.
Why do we incorporate additional botanicals and flower essences?
In addition to the full-spectrum organic hemp oil from our family farm in Central Oregon, our artisanal line of products is Naturopathic Doctor formulated with herbs and flower essences. In working with Dr. Emily Wiggins, to create our hemp oil blends, we’ve focused on complementary remedies that address individualized care to promote: Calm & Deep Rest, Mental Clarity & Focus, Detoxification & Balance, Strength & Vitality. We looked to pick herbs that were within the same energetic family, ensuring that the blends come together in a more orchestrated way.
We also use flower essences, which are created by picking blossoms from the plant at the height of their blooming, oftentimes under a full moon and in sync with the cycles of the earth. Flower essences work on an emotional level, which means now more than ever they’re experiencing a resurgence as we find ourselves looking inward, paying closer attention to the rhythms of our aches, pains, and deepest desires.
