I found love
on a Surfboard
Aloha SwellPeople,
Warm greetings from the Hawaiian Islands! I'm happy to say that I'm
writing this in absolute 'bliss' as I announce my engagement to my
beloved, Mike (pictured). As I reflect on our relationship, the image
that stands out over and over again is the first connection we made while
surfing. I guess you can say that I truly
found love on a surfboard. This love connection in the water brings
me to the announcement of SwellCo-ed, surf and
yoga experiences for men, women and couples which officially launches
from May 28th-June 3rd. Don't get me wrong...this isn't a 'swingin'
singles' gathering but a way to meet like-minded people through adventure
and wellness. By the way, couples, brothers, uncles and your best 'guy'
friend are welcome too! But if you do get hit over the head by Cupid's
bar of surfboard wax, don't say that I didn't warn you.
Many Blissings,
Me-Shell Barnas

A Huge Success
at SwellWomen Spring 2006
SwellWomen's Spring 2006 Experience
marked our 2nd successful year on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The women
were treated to steadily progressive swells during their surfing
portion while fueling up and dining on delicious organic feasts 3
times a day. Let's not forget the yoga, workshops and excursions which
left the guests feeling blissed out and satisfied. Other highlights
included seeing tons of turtles while snorkeling AND surfing, in room
massages and a gorgeous hike. Check out the SwellTestimonial in this
issue from one of our Spring 2006 guests.

Getting in
Shape for your Surfing Experience
Surfing is a physically demanding sport,
so don't think you're going to get in the water and rip it up right away.
The girls from Blue Crush and the media may make it look easy…so
don't be fooled…it's physically challenging, but the ultimate accomplishment!
Be determined and don't give up.
Swimming is one of the most useful ways of getting into shape for
surfing. Swimming works most of the main muscle groups needed for
surfing and it builds up that stamina. Cycling, running and general
workouts in the gym will all benefit you in the ocean too.
If you are thinking about going on a week's Hawaiian surf vacation and
want to experience the highest optimal level of fun, be prepared
physically. Start training early for your adventure by swimming as much
as possible and building up your cardio and muscle strength. You won't
regret the extra time you put in to 'train' for your surf vacation as
your surfing rewards will be plentiful.

SwellTestimonial
Our surfing left us with smiles of pure
joy. Brilliant meals! Conversations that were shared on a beautiful
setting of flowers and candle light brought strength and inspiration to
me. Adding new tastes of yoga to the program brought a peace that was
welcoming and required. Perfect timing for sweet breaths. I thank you for
this experience.
