Thanks for your interest in our SwellMates program which officially launched this year!
I often get the rental car question as many people like to have the option of having one to come and go as they please. However, you don't need one as transportation is provided from the moment you step off the plane, to all surfing lessons and sunset surfs and afternoon Maui excursions. There is also a shuttle that takes you into the historic town of Lahaina for $1 each way. Renting a vehicle is a luxury but not a necessity.
